Meet Your Nashville Intergroup Board
CHAIR - Email Chair@OANashville.org
My name is Angie B. and I am chair of MTI. I have been abstinent since June 23, 2006 and lost over 100 pounds. While the physical weight loss is absolutely wonderful, I have lost at least another 300 pounds between my ears. I was in OA a long time before 2006 and I would do anything that people who had what I wanted said to do except give up the food. Amazingly enough the program never worked for me doing it my way. Since my surrender of the food I really do have a lot of emotional and spiritual growth. The one constant during the times of not really surrendering to the program was that I kept coming back. I believe in service work. Service works bonds me to OA and to my fellow sufferers. I believe recovery is possible for anyone who is willing to go to any length to get it.
TREASURER - Email Treasurer@OANashville.org
My name is Sarah G. I qualify as a bulimic, anorexic and compulsive overeater. This is my second time in OA. I came back on February 14, 1997 and became abstinent on January 15, 1998. Not too long ago I celebrated 10 years of abstinence. I have continued to maintain a 15-20 pound weight gain.
I am Middle Tennessee Intergroup's treasurer. This is my strong suit as I majored in math and taught math in high school. I have also served as MTI's rep. to Region 8. During that time as Region 8 rep, I served Region 8 as its Chair and then for a short time as the chair of the Young People's Committee. Service is what has kept me coming back to OA one day at a time.
SECRETARY - Email Secretary@OANashville.org
Becky M. - Secretary - Becky has been working her OA recovery program since August 2000. Working the steps has become a way of life that has changed her life - spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Because Intergroup plays a crucial role in the maintenance and growth of our Middle Tennessee OA fellowship, she is grateful for the opportunity to provide service by serving as secretary.
